More immersive VR could lead to wider adoption for gaming, as well as practical applications like virtual tourism or VR-based therapy.
AI Assistants Get Smarter Artificial intelligence assistants like Siri, Alexa and Google Assistant are constantly evolving thanks to machine learning techniques. This year, expect your AI assistant to become more conversational, understand context better, and help with more complex tasks. They may start feeling less like a robot giving programmed responses, and more like an intelligent human assistant. Exciting stuff!
5G Speeds Become More Mainstream The next generation of cellular data networks, 5G, promises blistering fast speeds when accessing the internet on the go. Parts of many major cities already have 5G coverage, and coverage is expected to spread much wider this year as more 5G-compatible devices get released. We may finally be able to stream HD video without any buffering while riding public transit!
